Upcoming Event – Skills for Net Zero: Communicating, Advocating and Demonstrating Impact

Women in Net Zero event image - Skills for Net Zero: Communicating, Advocating and Demonstrating Impact

Working in the Net Zero space often means translating complex technical work into messages that resonate with colleagues, decision-makers, and the wider public.

This event will focus on practical skills that help professionals communicate their work clearly, advocate effectively for Net Zero initiatives, and demonstrate the impact of their projects.

We’ll be joined by:

  • Eimear Madden, from City Science – speaking on Communication Skills for Net Zero Professionals, focusing on how to translate technical concepts into something decision-relevant
  • Vicky Kingston, from Local Partnerships – leading our session on Advocating for Net Zero & Developing Assertiveness, covering how to build a compelling business case, communicate trade-offs, and confidently push forward sustainability initiatives within organisations
  • Judith Hayton from TfL – speaking on Quantifying Your Impact, exploring how to measure, articulate, and present the impact of Net Zero work in a meaningful and credible way

Net Zero is inherently cross-disciplinary and cross-organisational. Progress often depends not just on good ideas, but on the ability to communicate, influence, and evidence impact. This event is designed to provide practical tools that attendees can apply directly in their roles.

The talks will be followed by a questions and answers session, a short panel discussion, and an informal networking session with some light refreshments.
